Marinade for Shrimp

Marinated and Grilled Shrimp

Ingredients:

1/4 cup soy sauce, low sodium
2 T hoisin sauce
1 T Mirin sweet cooking rice wine
1 T peanut oil
2 t sesame oil, hot or mild
1/2 t garlic, minced
1/4 t ginger, minced
8 turns of the black pepper grinder

Spoon Mage™ Note:

The slightly sweet marinade easily surrounds and seasons 2 pounds of shrimp.

If you love ginger, increase the amount to match the garlic.

Directions:

Mix ingredients together and pour over prepared shrimp. Stir a bit either by hand or with a wooden spoon to make sure all the shrimps are covered.

Cover and refrigerate for one hour and then cook as you prefer. Wok them up, saute in a pan, cook in an oven at 425 for about 8 minutes or until done. In the photo, shrimps were grilled alongside skewers of veggies and grapes.

My new favorite shrimp marinade. Different from standard BBQ and not bland like unseasoned shrimp. Sweet and sticky, a little tangy, and very savory.
